Before your Wax...

Ensure you have enough growth; The ideal length is ¼- ½ inch. If the hair is too long, it will be more painful. But if the hair is too short, the wax will not stick.

Give yourself a once over before you book to ensure your skin is free from cuts, scrapes, moles, skin tags and cold sores. Trust us, it’s better than finding out the hard way.

Wear comfy undies!

Avoid sunbathing/suntanning 24hours before your appointment

24 hours prior to your appointment: lightly exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs

Take a warm shower, before your appointment, to open up the pores, creating an smoother exit of the hair follicles.

Don't apply any creams/gels/lotions to the areas being waxed

Do not drink alcohol before your waxing appointment. Stimulants in the system can cause the skin to be extra sensitive.

Low Pain Tolerance?
Pop an aspirin 30mins prior to your appointment or apply a numbing cream before stepping out of your house to reduce pain.

After your wax...

Hands off! We know you'll love your new smooth skin but avoid touching freshly waxed skin as this can encourage irritation and/or small pimples!

Avoid tight clothing after being waxed as this can cause skin irritation and ingrown hairs. Opt for plain cotton underwear after a Brazilian wax

Wait at least 24hours prior to swimming, tanning, using the hot tub or sauna

Keep away from extended sun exposure for 48 hours to avoid hyperpigmentation.

Keep hair follicles clean and free of dirt by showering immediately after a workout

Waxing the vaginal area can produce a temporary hive-like appearance. This is common and can last anywhere from 20 min to 24 hours

Feel free to apply a cold compresses and an anti-inflammatory cream, such as hydrocortisone, if the skin is especially tender after a Brazilin Wax

Exfoliate 2-3 times each week. This helps the new hairs grow out (rather than curl under the skin) and removes any dead skin cells that would result in ingrown hairs (avoid this for the first 24-48 hours after your wax!)

Until your next visit...

Continue to gently exfoliate  prevent buildup of dead cells leading to ingrowns. You can rub your skin vigorously with a towel, use an exfoliating glove or a scrub but train yourself to do it every time you shower or bathe.

Rub your skin vigorously with a towel

Moisturize after every shower

Do not shave.

Apply an Ingrown Hair Serum as needed to fight any pesky bumps or ingrown hairs. Ingrown hair serums not only fight and prevent future ingrown hairs, many also brighten dark spots and blemishes left behind from old ingrown hairs.

Remember to book your next appointment in 5-6 weeks :)

For an almost "ouchless" wax experience:

Some clients take an acetaminophen (eg: Tylenol) or ibuprofen (eg: Advil), about 1-2 hours prior to your treatment. These medications take longer to take effect, but decreases inflammation and pain for hours. Always check with your healthcare provider first and ensure you are not allergic

Plan your bikini/Brazilian hair removal after your period.

Trim the hair prior to waxing. The ideal length is ¼- ½ inch,. If the hair is too long, it will be more painful. But if the hair is too short, the wax will not stick.

Relax and breathe. Take a deep breath when the wax is applied, and exhale when she tugs off the strip!
